I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

Well, my dream came true. As I sit here it is indeed snowing. It's fun to actually have snow on Christmas day! Samantha had such a fun time at both our "pretend Christmas" at my parents house and our real Christmas with Adam's family. I have tons of pictures but figured I'd better just pick a couple to share. You can tell how happy Sammi is to have her picture taken. We decided to try to bribe her with Skittles. It worked. In this next picture she is saying "woah" because my neices Lauren and Caity had helicopters that they were flying. She was cracking up thinking they were the coolest thing she'd seen.

Isn't Christmas morning the greatest?

And finally, just loving Jichan

Sorry Ladies

I just have to take a minute to say I have the BEST husband ever. I'm sure some of you will argue that you have the best husband, but you're wrong :). I have been amazed lately with how much he does for Samantha and I. Even when he comes home tired he always runs in the door to play with Sammi and spend time with her. He never complains about having a hard day at work and that he just needs a few minutes, even though I'm sure that many days he would like nothing more than to watch TV for a few minutes and be by himself. Just as an example, the other day he had been at work all day and right after work he had to pick us up while my windshield was getting replaced. Samantha hadn't been a trooper with her nap that day and was super cranky. The first thing he offers is that after we get my car back that I can go home while he runs some errands with her so I can have a break. I knew he was just as tired as I was, but AGAIN he was putting us first. Plus he cooks dinner almost every night. Now how many women get to say that? I could give a million other examples of how he helps us and I am continually amazed that he is such an unselfish and giving person. I am so incredibly lucky to have him!!

I decided to post a couple of my favorite older pictures of Samantha with Adam, enjoy.

Boy!

Okay, I was going to post the ultrasound pictures, but they aren't really that cool. Our little guy was moving too much to get many good shots. The tech said she'd never seen a baby move that much (really, don't tell me that, I already have one crazy kid and don't need another). I am beliving that the baby is getting all of his energy out now so that he'll be nice and mellow when he's born. Adam and I are SOOO excited and can't wait to get out there and shop!

Thanksgiving

It was great to be in Colorado for Thanksgiving, Samantha had a TON of fun and loved being with everyone. Here are some fun pictures from the trip.

Chicago

The week before Thanksgiving we went to spend some time with my sister, Kelle. Samantha had a great time, except she was a little afraid of Grant (being the youngest of 4 kids has made him tougher than Sammi). Kelle and I went to see the musical "Wicked", which was AMAZING. I was so glad we got to see it. I've decided that there has been a mistake somewhere along the way and I'm supposed to have a voice like that. Unfortunately with my genes, I'm lucky to get through a verse of "The Wheels on the Bus." We also went to The Museum of Science and Industry, which was a lot of fun for the kids (and me). All in all it was a great trip!!

Playing Outside

It has been so nice here the last few days!! It's still a little chilly in the morning but we are still having fun playing outside. Samantha keeps bringing me her shoes and running to the door, so we're trying to take advantage of the warmth while we still have some. She is definately going to go through withdrawl when the snow hits and we're stuck inside. If anyone has any fun ideas of stuff to do when it gets cold let me know!

This is Samtha's favorite way to swing. She runs and jumps on, then hops off and does it again. I keep trying to sit her on the swing and teach her how to do it "regular" but she isn't having it.

This is after church, she wanted her snow hat on, and then she ran over to our neighbor's house and stole their pumpkin. Luckily they didn't care.

Halloween

It has taken me a few days to get these up, but hey, better late than never. We tried to carve pumpkins the night before Halloween, but Samantha was not interested at all. She stayed up there with us for awhile, but was grossed out by the seeds (she kept looking in the bowl and saying yucky). On Halloween we decided not to trick-or-treet since Samantha is still so little. instead we went out to dinner with Brad and Kim and then just went around the mall for a few minutes. Samantha had such a fun time! I thought she would hate the little hat thing, but she wanted it on the whole time and was upset when Adam tried to take it off. She was running around the mall just laughing at all the other kids. She was SO CUTE! The picture where she is on the phone she was calling Grammie (this was actually a couple days before Halloween, but it's one of the best shots of the costume).

She loved the costume so much that last night after her bath she wanted to wear the hat (even though she wasn't wearing anything else)

The Hair Disaster of 2007

Okay, so some of you know Samantha has been pulling her hair out when she's tired/bored. I have finally had it (she was getting a bald spot) and I cut her hair! I'm still pretty upset about it (I cried the whole time I was cutting it so hopefully it's not too uneven), but it's really bad if she starts eating it and I wanted to stop this habit before it gets any worse. Anyway, here are the pictures..I hope you all think she still looks cute and not like a boy.

(The bow is my attempt to still have her look feminine)

Beauty Queen

I was getting ready this morning and Samantha was "helping" me. She found my blush and thought that it was the neatest thing. She took it downstairs and has been putting it on ever since. I decided to take a couple of pictures and let all of you enjoy as well.

Children's Museum

We went to the children's musuem a few days ago with some friends of ours who has a little boy just a couple weeks older than Samantha. She had such a fun time, I think Sammi could move in there. It's great to have a plcae to go now that the weather is getting colder and getting outside is hard. In the second picture she's trying to give her friend a hug but as you can see he's having none of it. I can already see her future...

What are the odds?

I was looking at a calendar today and realized that Mother's Day is just before my due date. How random would it be if Samantha was born on Father's Day and this baby was born on Mother's Day? I actually think it'd be cool, but I wouldn't be excited about missing a day of having Adam do whatever I want. Maybe we'll just have to celebrate on a different day just in case. I know I haven't posted pictures of little miss crazy lately and really, what's the use of a blog with out pictures. Anyway I will get some up soon though, I promise.

Visitors

We had my mom and dad come out this weekend for confrence. It was so fun to have people for Samantha and I to play with!! Sammi loved my parents and decided that my mom was her new best friend (here they are reading together). We got to go to the children's museum, shopping, and Dad and Adam went to look at shelves (woo hoo). Other than that we just watched confrence and got to hang out. I have decided that it is way more fun when other people are around (not that Samantha's not great, but her conversation skills need some work). So, anyone who would like to come visit for a day or a week we'd love to have you!

Grrr

So I just took 15 minutes and added a new post, and what happens? It doesn't go up. That'll teach you to use technology. I'll try to remember most of what I put and hopefully it'll go up quicker this time.

Yes I am sick. It was a sad day when I woke up and realized that for the next 2 months (give or take) I would never feel quite well. It started sometime the middle of this week with just generally not feeling well and was full blown by last night (Saturday). Luckily my version of full blown still isn't too awful and I can go on with my life, just not as happily as before. I am just blessed to have a wonderful husband and friends who are willing to help out. Adam has been having his tooth hurt, so it looks like tomorrow he'll have to get a root canal. No fun for him. Good thing he has been working so many hours that taking a few off won't be a problem. Other than a little sickness, and a toothache, we've been doing great. Our neighbors watched Sammi on Friday night so we could go out and she was thrilled. I don't think she noticed we were gone, and I swear she was a little disappointed when it was me rather than Brad and Kimmy that were waking her up on Saturday morning.

Other than that Samantha has been learning to point out things in books (we're working on pointing and naming people in pictures) So far she only says fish and star, but she'll repeat more if I tell her first. She is also becoming quite a dancer (she just moves her little feet as fast as she can). I'll try to get a video of that up on here in the next couple of days (that will take assistance from Adam so it could take longer). I was also looking for a picture I took earlier this summer and found these...
Nice uh? Just hanging out.
Other than that, nothing is really changing in our lives...just looking forward to all the trips coming up to see all of you.

Yogurt

So, the other night I was hoping to get away without giving Sammi a bath. Of course, without thinking I give the child yogurt. Not a smart move. Things were going fine until she decided to "drink" the yougrt, abandon the spoon and scoop it in with her hands, and play peek-a-boo so that it ended up all over her face. She had also pulled out her hair from the day so it's the complete package.

I'm also including pictures of her bath last night. The purple thing around her neck is an inflatable ring that she likes to put around her neck (it opens in the back) and wear like a necklace.

I'm actually surprised that she looks this happy, she hasn't been feeling well the last couple days and I think she's got a cold. It's no fun for her or for me, but at least she's still sleeping. If anyone wants to come out and have some quality time with "girl baby" Samantha, feel free, Adam and I have been looking foward to a vacation. :)

Hello!

I decided to start a blog (how fun is that) so that you lovely people who actually have an interest in my life can see what I'm doing at any given moment. Well, not quite that often, I mean really there are some parts that I am sure no one would like to see. This way I can also post pictures of my wonderful little darling so you can see what crazy things she's been up to.
(This first one is courtesy of Adam)

Sooo...the big news right of the bat, Adam and I are expecting again (can you believe it?) When I called the doctors office to set up my first appointment they told me my due date is May 20. However, according to NUMEROUS websites my due date is May 18. Since I believe in hopeful thinking, and two days less of being pregnant I will go with May 18. I guess it doesn't really matter because they come when they come, but hey, I can think what I want right?

Other than that, Adam is working all the time and gone at school so I'm being a single mom who's not actually single. I know Kelle is probably rolling her eyes as she glances at a picture of Chris to make sure she still knows what he looks like, but he is gone more than I'd like. As for me, I clean, do laundry, grocery shop, and all the other wonderful jobs that motherhood entails (I decided to leave the more graphic descriptions to your imagination).

So that's all for now, I'll leave you with a cute picture of Samantha on the new slide by our house (she looks scared to death of going down, but she really does love it)
