Fun With Grammie

Adam's Mom, Holly, has been in town visitng for the last few days. It was so fun to have her here so she could get to see the kids. Samantha is especially glad she's here (Holly is far nicer than me) and every night tells me "Grammie read story me." Adam and I are out in the cold. She's going to be so sad when Holly leaves and it's just us again. Good thing we'll get to spend time with her again in August when we make a trip out to Colorado. Thanks for being such a good Grammie, we love you!

Happy Birthday to You

Here are some pictures of Sammi on her actual birthday. Since we'd already had a part all we did was order pizza (her favorite) and open presents. I didn't even make an another cake. Oh well, she had no clue. Here are some pictures of her opening presents. Thanks everyone, she loved everything!

TV Babysitter

I can see why this is so tempting...today I did the one thing I swore I'd never do, use the tv as a babysitter. I REALLY needed to get some cleaning done. Samantha loves to help me clean, the only problem with that is that she loves to help me clean. So, I sat her in front of the tv and ran upstairs as fast as my legs could go. I got so much done! Granted, it only lasted for about 15 minutes, but still. Don't worry, I won't make a habit out of it. (Oh and she is not still in front if it now, she's playing with her train and singing "popcorn popping" with me)

New Bed!

Well, Samantha has officially gotten big enough to sleep in her "big girl bed." It went fairly well, she doesn't miss her crib at all, but nto perfect. She's in a stage where she really doesn't like going to bed and just wants us to play with her. If we close the door she screams (she was doing this in her crib too) so we're trying to figure out how to make bed time a little easier. Any suggestions are welcome. Luckily once she's calmed down she stays in bed. I heard her talking at like 2 am last night (I was up to feed Paul) but she didn't seem to care that she was by herself. We also switched Paul's bedding into the crib, but he won't start sleeping in there until Holly leaves. Sammi refused to take a picture in her new bed and we haven't bought the bedding for her yet or decorated, but you get the idea. This last picture is just one of Samantha playing today and I thought it was funny.

Happy Father's Day

I just want to take a second and say that I have a WONDERFUL Dad and a WONDERFUL husband (who is also a great dad). I am so lucky to have had such great men in my life and in my children's life. Thank you both for all you have done and continue to do for me. I love you guys!

Party Time

We had a birthday party for Samantha yesterday with two of her good friends. I am really glad we ended up doing itbecaue she had such a good time. It was a pizza and pool/outside party. Granted the pool was a kiddie pool, but hey, the kids didn't care and still had a lot of fun. Here are some pictures of the big day...

1 Month Old!

I can't believe Paul is already a month old (as of Thursday)..Samantha is still in love with the kid and is doing GREAT with him. I couldn't have asked for a better older sister. Paul is turning out to be pretty mellow, and is happy just hanging out on the floor or in his swing when he's awake. I'm counting my blessings and hoping it doesn't change. Here are some pictures of Paul at exactly one month...I love the second picture because it shows what is usually happening, Paul hanging out and Samantha right there ready to touch him.

What A Day!

This is how our morning started out...I should have figured that this would set the tone for the rest of the day.

After breakfast, we took pictures for the invitation for Samantha's little "friend" party with her two friends who also turn 2 this month. Jason, Talmage, and Sammi had a hard time all being happy at the same time, but this picture turned out pretty cute. You should have seen the three mom's trying desperately to get the kids to look at us. We were singing, being trains, etc. It was actually a little ridiculous, but still fun.

After that, my Dad was in town, so we drove up to Salt Lake so he could meet his newest grandson and namesake. Samantha was SO excited to see him. As we were putting her to bed tonight she yelled "Love you Dad Dad" with no prompting from us. She is going to have such a fun time this summer when she gets to spend more time with him.

After taking pictures with my Dad, Samantha wanted to take a couple with Paul. You can see how pleased she is with herself. She sure loves her little brother. I can't say he's as excited with the arrangment as Sammi. I guess he should get used to her being in charge because I don't think it's going to change any time soon!!
