He knows

Paul is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen, he smiles so big it looks like his face is going to break apart because he can't contain all his joy. He smiles at everyone (especially Sammi), he'll even smile at his toys. Then, I pull out the camera and his face goes slack. He knows...

Fun Pictures

I know I've posted a lot tonight, but I wanted to put up 2 really cute pictures of my kids. They are my new favorites.

Samantha playing outside in her pool
Paul hanging out in his bouncer seat, I can't believe how big he's gotten!

Hiking

Adam and I have decided we need to get out more rather than having our big family trips be to Wal-Mart. We have gone on a couple of fun hikes lately and thought we'd share the pictures. These are on the way up Mt. Timp (no we didn't reach the top, not even close) and at Payson's Grotto. At Payson's Grotto Sammi kept calling the waterfall the "huge water" (everything is "huge" lately) and when we left she kept saying "more huge water, more huge water."

Grandpa's House

I've been meaning to post pictures of the before and after of Grandpa's house so you can all see what an amazing job Adam did remodeling. We don't have as many before pictures as I'd like, but here are the ones we do have. (for the after shots, just follow the link to the property tour)

As you can tell, everything is new except for the windows and shower downstairs. Wonderful job honey, it looks GREAT!!

Kids Say The Darndest...

These are just some things that Samantha has said or done that I want to remember:

1. In January, at my parents' house my mom and I were sitting on her treadmill. Samantha thought it was a good idea to lick it. When my mom told her that was yucky she started throwing things then preceeded to lick my mom. I told Sammi if she did it again she would go to timeout. Rather than listen, she laid her head down on my mom's lap, looked right at me and stuck her tongue out the side of her mouth to lick my mom's leg again.

2. Sometime around March Sammi and I were crossing the street and I told her she had to hold my hand. She didn't want to, so I told her when we cross the street she has to hold someone's hand to be safe. She told me, "okay, mine hand" and held her own hand while she crossed the street.

3. Brad took Samantha outside for a few minutes while we were setting up for her birthday party. He told her she had to wear shoes if they were going on a walk. She pointed to his feet (he was barefoot) and said "no shoes." Guess she told him.

4. Lately she has started saying "mes" and "yous" instead of yours and mine. It's cute.

5. Tonight after an hour of playing in her bed (she usually reads and plays with her dolls for an hour and a half or so before going to sleep) she starts yelling "HI, HI, HELLO." I finally went in there (she hurt a sore on her foot) and stayed for a few minutes. She kept turning to me and saying "uh, roar" and telling me "I hear mine Daddy out there" "I hear mine baby Paul out there."

I am sure there are more things, but right now I can't remember any of them, so it's likely I'll do another post like this soon.

The Great and the Terrible

Well, this post is all about the great and terrible things that have happened since I've been slacking on my posts. First, the great...Adam is finally finished with Grandpa's house...YEAH!! It looks awesome and I am SO proud of the work he did. It doesn't even look like the same house. It was also really fun to have Kevin and Holly out for a visit so they could see all the work that was done. The other really great thing that happened was that Samantha said "I love you Mommy" for the first time (with out being prompted) to me a few days ago. I was sitting on the stairs and she just ran over to me and gave me a kiss and blurted it out. It was the sweetest thing.

Unfortunately things aren't all sunshine and roses, the same day Samantha told me she loved me our washer blew up. Well, maybe not blow up as in pieces, but still. We were outside playing and I came in so I could change Paul's diaper and the whole house was completely filled with smoke. I thought the house was on fire so I ran upstairs but luckily it was just the washer smoking. I still don't know what happened. After that Paul was screaming (he was hot and tired) and so was Samantha (she jumped in her little pool with her clothes on) so I decided we should leave. Too bad Samantha had stolen my keys! We were stuck. We couldn't stay outside because it was too hot, we couldn't go inside because of the smoke and we couldn't leave with no keys. I may or may not have had a mini (or large) meltdown. Luckily no kids were thrown out of windows and no mothers jumped out of windows...seriously, we're lucky :). That has been the tone ever since. More of the terrible than the great. Adam got done with the house, but he still has school and so he'll be gone almost as much. Samantha got sick so she's been whiny and crabby. Then Adam got sick so he's been in bed the last 3 days. We also have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get approved for health insurance so right now we are uninsured (pray no one gets sick or hurt) Nothing too awful has happened but things have still been no fun.

Alright, I'm done complaining...I do have a wonderful husband and two of the best kids in the world and despite everything I know I'm lucky. Just gotta keep on keepin on until things turn around a little. In the meantime if anyone is looking for two adorable children I have two ready and willing while I go on vacation!

4th of July

Sorry this is late, things have just been crazy lately...so, I just have to start off by saying I have the cutest kids ever! We started off the morning by going to the parade in Provo. Samantha didn't want to go (since she had no idea what a parade involved) until I told her there would be candy. Then the little eyes lit up and she was ready. Adam stayed home with Paul so that we wouldn't have to worry about him getting to hot. After the parade we came home and got our furniture ready to go up and stage Grandpa's house for the open house. Luckily both Samantha and Paul slept. After the kids woke up we ended up running around frantically trying to get all the stuff into the truck and up to Salt Lake. After staging the house (not easy to do with your 2 year old "helping") we went over to Josh and Angella's for dinner and fireworks. Adam was pretty excited for the "Brew Haha" and it is in fact a remarkable firework. Here are some fun pictures from the day:

I'm not sure Paul liked this (he was asleep before Samantha got a hold of him)
