Well, we have a probable diagnosis for Paul. It is likely that he has childhood apraxia of speech. They don't typically settle on this for sure until closer to age 3...but this is most likely what it will turn out to be. I'd give more information, but it's easier if I just give you a link to a website that does a much better job. Basically it's a severe speech problem that will, more than likely, lead to problems with language for a significant amount of time. Each child is different and it's difficult to say what the long term implications are, but it will be a long road for our wonderful little boy.
