In Our Bed
Samantha was up the other night because she was coughing. I felt so bad for the poor girl (it was midnight and she hadn't really slept) that I decided she could come in and sleep with me. Well, since this is the first time she's ever gotten to do that she wasn't quite sure what to make of the situation. She started playing and getting off the bed. Then she lost her sock somewhere in the covers and I heard "uh oh" for 5 min until I finally turned on the light to find the sock. She also was lying on Adam's chest and he felt her sit up, then felt her face get closer and closer until she was touching his nose and breathing right on him. Needless to say he started laughing. It was a joke, so after 30 min of trying to get her to sleep I finally took her back in her bed where she stayed the rest of the night. It would have been nice if she'd slept in our room so I wasn't awake listening for her the whole night, but all things considered I'd MUCH rather have her never sleep in our room than always sleep in our room.

A Little About Today
So, Sunday was my birthday and it was great to just hang out and have a relaxing day. Adam took great care of me, making me breakfast and dinner. We also had a couple of friends over for cake but it was VERY low key so it was nice. Last night Adam and I along with our good friends Kim and Brad went to the Jazz game, in part to celebrate my birthday. It was great to get out of the house for a night and go do something fun. I think it is too easy to get stuck in a rut and end up doing the same thing every night. Luckily a woman Adam works with gave us these free tickets so it pushed us to do something different (not to mention they were $120 seats so we never would have been able to do it on our own). The Jazz beat the Spurs, who are a very good team, so it made it even more exciting.
Other than that Samantha has been extremely happy the last couple of weeks. She's usually a pretty happy kid, but it's been to the point where she hardly cries at all...ever. After she got over the flu she has just been in a great mood. It is amazing how much more fun it is to stay at home with her all day when she's laughing and playing rather than whiny and cranky. She is also learning to talk on the phone. She talks to Adam almost every day. The conversation always goes, "hello, love you, bye bye" Sometimes if Adam, or whoever she is talking to, asks if she wants a snack or something she'll say "yeah" but mostly she just sticks to the script.

Bath Time
Adam was giving Sammi her bath the other night and she was having such a good time that I had to break out the camera. She kept giving Adam kisses and then washing his cheeks. It was pretty cute to watch them together. I know I haven't updated my blog much lately but it's because really, nothing is going on. We got sick with the flu, but I'm sure no one wants to see pictures of that. So, I'll try to get more exciting so that I can update more regularly.

Finally Home
We had the greatest time out in Colorado, but it is nice to finally be home. Adam left on New Years Eve to return to work and school but Samantha and I were able to stay until last Friday. Samantha was excited to be with family, but she has also LOVED seeing her Daddy again. It's cute to watch how much she missed him. Yesterday morning she saw that our door was closed (Adam was still in bed) and she wanted to go in and see him. I distracted her for awhile, but we finally had to go in there. She said hi and I tried to get her to come downstairs to play. She sat at the top of the stairs saying "mon" (come on) to Adam and refused to go down with out him. I finally picked her up and carried her, and she immediately went right back upstairs and wouldn't leave until he came with her. It was sweet. I didn't really take any more pictures after Christmas, but I'll get some to post soon. Thanks to everyone we saw for making our holidays fun!!
